A rich collection of Mexican folk art.  The collection is significant because it contains examples of many
types of folk art produced by the nation’s ethnic groups; moreover, it reveals Yampolsky’s keen eye, 
one that was filled with humor and showed a special attraction to ironic references.

In addition, the Foundation will undertake research on the work of Mariana Yampolsky and related
photographers,and will disseminate research through publications and other means. Finally, the
Foundation will protect Yampolsky’s artistic rights, and will assure that her patrimony and work is utilized 
solely for cultural, educational, and humanitarian ends.
